Boston’s Wine Riot: Round 2

Tyler Balliet 2Wine promotion is perfected through Tyler Balliet’s venerable wine publication The Second Glass.  The first Wine Riot was held to great success last April, so the sequel was pretty much a no brain-er.

Make no mistake.  Boston has millennial winos, plenty of them.  Wine Riot is presented as “Not Your Parents Wine Event” and as such forges ahead with some very cool functions.

Promising a snob free environment, over 250 wines from around the globe are brought in for sampling.  Participating sponsors host seminars on topics ranging from specific grapes, regions and growing trends.  Wine Riot treats wine like it’s the real deal.

wine riotFor those of you not familiar with the Second Glass, it is a Boston based wine magazine that delivers content of both entertainment and substance.   It doesn’t condescend to its readers.  It regards wine as an accessible drink, empowering its readers, while traces of pretension are stripped away making room for genuine fun.  All they are saying is drink more wine.

September 25 and 26 are the dates for Wine Riot.  Baller wines is how they describe it and judging by how Boston winos have embraced it, they are on to something.
