Sam Klingberg might best be described as a Guerrilla Wine Blogger, you know someone who is short on money but not passion and vision. He seems to bear a distinct Vino-esque kind of attitude of creativity and freedom. There's some garage band honesty going on here and it comes out loud in The Broke Wino's manifesto which states clearly up front "For all the volumes of books, blogs, seminars, and experts that exist simply to bombard your mind with esoteric facts and opinions about about wine, you can’t get past the prima facie evidence: wine is meant to get you drunk

If you look closely at what I write, you'll find I don't love drinking just for the sake of drinking. I rarely - if ever - write about wine as an "object." Reading other people's tasting notes make me want to put a gun in my mouth. Instead, I write about my interactions with people - winemakers, cork dorks, & people who've barely given it a second thought. Wine is interesting, but people are much more interesting.

It probably matters as much to the show as the voluptuous Joan Holloway or the duplicitous Pete Campbell. So where did all of these characters, including our favorite imbiber, Don Draper, go so wrong? By that we mean, where's the wine?

First I would always go for the sweets ones (super fruity, white Zinfandels and dare I say Franzian in nature). And that was nice, but we all know how those sweet ones just end up getting left behind as our wine palates change.

Let's begin the search for the perfect pool wines with the obvious. This pool is in Japan and the pictures taken back in 2007 but it is indicative of the importance of wine in the Japanese culture. If the health benefits of drinking vino are so apparent, logic follows that swimming in it must increase those same benefits exponentially. It really doesn't matter much. We're running with it.
